Writing Workshops
This day specifically focuses on supporting Teacher Aides to understand all aspects of the writing process and the authorial and secretarial roles of the writer. Participants study the generic structure, purpose and language features of various text types in order to be able to more fully support the students with their writing. Planning proformas for each text type are used as a scaffold for the students but also to support the participants in their role when working with developing writers. A continuum of support and strategies are discussed for supporting reluctant writers.
