The Essentials of Implementing an Effective Reading Program P-3 (Afternoon)
This two hour workshop specifically focuses on supporting P-3 teachers in
implementing a consistent structured approach to improving the reading of
all students in their classroom.
A whole - part - whole approach
to the teaching of reading is advocated using a continuum of support
with the instructional approaches of Modelled, Shared and Guided Reading.
This workshop has a particular emphasis on guided reading and includes
the organisation and management of small groups of students for Guided
Reading and ideas for independent literacy learning activities.
